I feel a great need for somethng that makes the missional/emerging church tangible. At this time it feels almost like the mantra for it is to be non, non anything that might give it substance.
A for instance, and I am in a rural area so might not be quite the same but bet its not far away, is the lack of interest in Sunday morning worship or church membership of many. Not sure what the theo is behind this but it is a huge part of keeping a church alive. They want the building and all its stuff when it applies to project but not to support that capital outlay the rest of the time.
If there were just something to put in front of those with a missional heart it would be quite helpful.
Not a thoelogian but would love to enter the discussion. WaynO

It would be great to (re)connect your folks to the conversation. Any leads would be terrific.

Your comments are foundational for something like this. It would have to begin with the missio dei and subsequently continue with the mission of the church.

I hope more folks jump into the conversation.

Thanks Craig!

I think one of the essential components might come asking what is the nature of the church. Reformation has focused on the "word and sacrament". A missional catechism would ask about the "who" and the "where" to pick up on the ideas of a "sent and sending people, of a sent and sending Lord" to paraphrase George Hunsberger in the introduction to the book, Missional Church.

My colleague and I have been working on this. we began it while we were with Allelon and then the issue went cold. We continue to collect ideas about this. So, you're not alone out there in thinking this way. For awhile, we had a growing network of people walking down this path. Maybe it's time to give them a call again.
