As part of a ministry team of Westminster Presbyterian (part of PCUSA) in Lakewood NY, I was curious if there were any Emergent/Emerging Churches in the Southern Tier that would be interested in face-to-face discussion concerning the challenges and specifics of E-ministry? After attending several Emergent Pittsburgh events (and loving them), I am hopeful to find a similar group of people closer to home that would be interested in sharing their thoughts and possibly hosting speakers on the topics associated with the Emerging Church.
This December, our church is hosting Phyllis Tickle as an effort to reach out to those interested in spiritual formation and emerging ministries. I know that we all are very diverse in approaching Emergence and I think we have much to learn from each other.
Let’s see if we can find a starting point for this kind of face-to-face community building to begin.
