  1. It’s on my calendar. I will be there.

  2. I’m very excited about the Pittsburgh gathering. I’ll be there and look forward to participating in whatever way is helpful. Mostly I just want to hang out with some of you doing this stuff in that part of the country!

Maybe the Midwest Emergent Gathering will give me some good ideas. We’ll see how that goes. I’m excited about that gathering as well, and a few of us mainline and presby types will be there.

  3. I’ll be there, and am willing to help in whatever way is needed.

  4. I’m looking forward to it and I’m planning on attending as well!

  5. I really hope this will not be a one-shot deal for this part of the world. I would love to be there but our church retreat is scheduled for that weekend. Hope everyone has a great time!

  6. I would like to organize a pre-conference shin dig with no other purpose than to get to know one another. If it is the nigh before I can arrange for the appropriate beverages and food to be at my house or another drinking establishement in town. Let me know if folk are interested in something like that on Thrusday night the 11th of October!

  7. Can’t be there except in spirit, but I’m willing to help from afar if needed.

  8. That sounds great, BJ — if you’re taking requests, I recommend Rochefort or Chimay. They’re both a bit hard to find, but worth the effort (and part of a great cause, too).

    :-)

  9. Shouldn’t we make visitors to Pittsburgh try at least one Iron City or I.C. Light?

  10. Yes. Local beverages are always a good idea. And since they support the local economy & heritage, they too are part of a good cause.

    Even though it’s a Pilsner. :-(

  11. For cheap and “it’s a ‘burgh thing” beverages, you are encouraged to “pump an iron.”

And if you like good local beer, enjoy one of Penn Brewery’s offerings.

Dang. This is making me homesick.

  12. I’m guessing that more specifics regarding the event will be forthcoming? In any event, our church, Westminster PC in Lakewood, NY, will likely have a number of people interested.

  13. The northern chapter will be there! James M., Ian and I are so excited for another opportunity to join in the conversation and fellowship with our new friends! As for the place to get together, I’m not fussy - but the Church Brew Works is always a nice place to go.

  14. Conference sound interesting. Along the way, I think now will be a good time to discuss alcohol and drug abuse in America and in the church, particularily among Ministers of Word and Sacrament. This is a very serious problem in Pgh, and the surrounding area.
