Online Text Discussion

Does anyone know of good online text discussion groups or blogs that discuss upcoming lectionary texts?

I’m all for creative forms of exegesis and figure somebody smarter than me has already set something up. Can you help me out?

  1. Textweek.com is one of the best ones that I’ve seen. They lead you to all kinds of links. They even have a section that talks about movie clips for the themes lifted up by the texts.

  2. There is a lively discussion every Tuesday on the lectionary text at the RevGalBlogPals blog: http://www.revgalblogpals.blogspot.com.

On Saturday that blog has the “Preacher Party” where preachers exchange ideas on their planned sermons. Many of them follow the lectionary.

    Check it out!

  3. I have often found the conversation at desperatepreacher.com to be helpful

  4. I’ve started doing a blog with commentary on lectionary readings. May not be suitable if you’re looking for help on sermon prep. I’m not a pastor, and I’m writing the day of the lectionary. But I am interested in people commenting on my screwy readings. http://unauthorizedtrans.blogspot.com/

  5. There is a great email distribution from TWEdwards@gmail.com
on the AI forum on Yahoo,
that gives an appreciative view of each lectionary text.
This based on the Appreciative Inquiry model and is very emerging in its views of the Bible passages IMHO.

  6. Hi Adam. textweek.blogs.com has a good list of lectionary blogs. I have a lectionary blog at http://www.gospelnotes.postkiwi.com which has been sporadic over the last year.
