Presbymergent: The Story of One Mainliner’s Quest to Be a Loyal Radical
Greetings Presbymergent friends. Things have been a little slow on the site recently, but it is a very busy time of the year. I’m going to have my finals in the next few weeks, and then Sarah and I are moving back to Princeton, NJ so I can finish my final (4th!) year at Princeton Theological Seminary (I’m in a Dual Degree program: M.Div & MA in Youth Ministry). After moving to Princeton, I’ll be immediately starting my Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital; the program will run through August 10th. At any rate, that’s why I haven’t been posting or commenting much on the site - and I’m sure everyone else is just as busy.
Anyway, just want to encourage you to keep contributing to the site. I know there are many people who are checking out the site. Just a quick perusal of the membership shows that there are PC(USA)ers from the left and the right, some Executive Presbyters, pastors, laity and other leaders in the denomination who are checking out the site. A friend of mine who graduated from seminary a few years ago, who is in a Company of New Pastors group, said that they met recently to discuss some emergent books they had each read, the Presbymergent was one website that came up in their conversation as well. So, there are definitely people who are paying to this site, which is exciting.
Anyway, I just thought I would share with you my chapter from An Emergent Manifesto of Hope, in case you haven’t (or don’t plan on) buying the book. There are some really great chapters in the book (I reviewed it here) - so I would encourage you to grab a copy. You can download the PDF here. Happy reading.
